Hero's Legacy Program | International Exchange - Study Tour in Singapore and Malaysia
On July 23rd 2024, 19 children of the Hero's Legacy Program embarked on a study tour to Malaysia and Singapore.
In the morning of July 23, the members of the study tour gathered at the Shenzhen Carnegie Classroom for the opening ceremony. During the icebreaker games and team-building activities, the members quickly got to know each other. The Carnegie teacher explained the study tour rules and preparatory matters in detail and encouraged the members to actively participate and express themselves bravely in the following activities.
On the first day, the study tour group arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the morning, the members walked through the mysterious Batu Caves. Every step echoed with history, furthermore, the guide's explanation served as a key, unlocking the door to the treasure house of Malaysian religious culture for the members. Here, the members not only witnessed the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures but also planted the seeds of respect and understanding in their hearts. In the afternoon, they visited the Pewter Museum and learned about the pewter-making process. The simple production experience carried the inheritance and admiration for the spirit of craftsmanship.
On the second day, they visited the Memorial Lim Lian Geok and had a deeper understanding of the concept of harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures in Malaysia. Subsequently, the team members ascended the Petronas Twin Towers, an iconic landmark in Kuala Lumpur, to overlook the cityscape. They also participated in a checkpoint challenge within the towers, which effectively enhanced their teamwork capabilities.
On the third day, the study tour group deeply experienced the essence of Islamic culture and felt its unique architectural aesthetics and religious atmosphere at the Masjid Putra. In the afternoon, they made team adjustments at Jonker Walk in the historical city of Malacca, injecting new vitality and tacit understanding into the following journey.
On the fourth day, the participants traveled to Singapore and organized an international friendship challenge at Merlion Park to enhance their confidence and communication ability. They also took AR&VR courses at Nanyang Technological University to explore the infinite possibilities of integrating virtual objects into the real world.
On the fifth day, Universal Studios Singapore became a stage for the members to release their vitality and creativity. The laughter and screams in the amusement activities were not only a test of courage but also the best interpretation of the spirit of teamwork. The members confronted challenges collectively, accomplished tasks collaboratively, and the team cohesion was elevated to unprecedented levels
On the final day, with a heart full of gratitude and reluctance. The study tour group returned to Shenzhen and held a warm and grand graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, the teachers acknowledged the breakthroughs and growth of each child during this study tour and encouraged the children to transform this experience into a driving force for progress and continue to shine in the future.
After the ceremony, the team took the children to visit the Ever Care Charity Foundation for sharing and communication. We believe that this journey will become a cherished memory in the hearts of each child, inspiring them to explore a broader world and embrace a more wonderful future with greater confidence in the days to come.
